Make use of the scrap paper provided! Organize your notes in order so you can easily access the information you’ve written down. Have props set up in order as well.
Wear a watch! Roleplay rounds don't have a timer to keep track, so a watch keeps you on schedule during the presentation.
Save 30 seconds at the end of your prep to review everything you set up before meeting with your judge. This will help you stay organized right before the presentation.
“Props are 100% personal preference. Some people have done extremely well with them, and others have done well without them. Only use them if you know they will enhance your presentation. (Graphs/charts can be useful in visually presenting your ideas.) Remember that no props can be pre-made! You must create props during role-play preparation time” (Straight from DECA Direct!)
Keep up with recent news in your cluster. Ex. Reading Yahoo Finance if you're doing a finance event.
